Visa Details

1. Visa Application Form

• Completed and signed.

2. Passport

• Valid for at least 3 months after your planned departure from the Schengen Area.

• At least 2 blank pages.

• Issued within the last 10 years.

• Include photocopies of all used pages (visa stamps, previous visas).

3. Photographs

• 2 recent passport-sized photos (white background, 35x45 mm).

4. Cover Letter

• Explaining the purpose of travel, travel itinerary, dates, and duration of stay.

• Addressed to the French Consulate General.

5. Travel Itinerary

• Round-trip flight reservations or bookings.

6. Accommodation Proof

• Hotel bookings or invitation letter from a host (if staying with friends/family).

• If hosted: provide a “Attestation d’Accueil” from the town hall in France.

7. Travel Insurance

• Valid in all Schengen countries.

• Minimum coverage: €30,000 (approx. ?27 lakh).

• Covers medical emergencies and repatriation.

• Duration: entire period of your stay.

8. Proof of Financial Means

• Last 3 to 6 months of bank statements, signed and stamped by the bank.

• Income tax returns (ITR) or Form 16.

• Proof of employment:

  • Employees: No-objection certificate (NOC) from employer, salary slips.

  • Self-employed: Business registration documents, income proof.

  • Students: School/college ID, leave approval letter.

Minimum financial requirement: approx. €120 per day per person unless staying with a host.

9. Proof of Civil Status

• If applicable: marriage certificate, birth certificates of children, etc.

10. Visa Fee Receipt

• Proof of payment of the visa fee (usually paid at VFS centre).

Optional but Recommended

• Copies of previous Schengen visas (if any).

• Travel history (old passports with visas/stamps).

• Day-wise travel itinerary.
